Keeping program records current after the January 2026 CVTEA update

A standards update affects more than a reference document. It can affect where skills are taught, how completion is documented, and the reports used for accreditation review.

What programs should review

Keep the framework connected to the work your program already does

The January 2026 CVTEA notice announced revisions to the Accreditation Policies and Procedures Manual, including Appendix G. A practical response starts with reviewing the curriculum and student evidence connected to the updated framework.

  1. Curriculum maps: confirm affected skills appear in the appropriate course or learning experience.
  2. Completion criteria: review the criteria and evidence used to verify each skill.
  3. Student records: preserve completed work when a skill is renamed, reclassified, or split.
  4. Accreditation reporting: verify reports still show who completed each required skill and when.

Salt House maintains the CVTEA skill framework inside the platform, so programs can keep working from a current list without rebuilding local trackers. Review the January 2026 CVTEA notice and the current Appendix G skills list alongside your curriculum map.
